Sartorial Lit: Spectacular Literary Themed Weddings

Photobucket
If it's one thing that I adore most about literature, it's observing how the world translates it into their daily lives. Particularly, I'm in love with the mere thought of incorporating my literary love into a romantic, mysterious, and beautiful wedding. Lately, I've been looking up various wedding photography showcasing the most beautiful weddings translated from some of the worlds most favorite novels. Some are also purely inspired by the art of literature itself.  Here are a few I adored:

This Hunger Games inspired wedding is perrrrrfect. Creme colored lace, intricate braiding, earthly layered tones, and even the inclusion of a bow. Wonderful.

{Twilight Inspired Wedding @ Green Wedding Shoes}

What I adored most about this beautiful Twilight inspired wedding is that it is in no ways your obvious 'twi- centered' wedding. Its adorned by beautiful blues, a simplistic wedding gown and tux, in a gorgeous field, set in the midst of an actual twilit sky, surrounded by lanterns.

{Pride and Prejudice Midnight Tea Themed Wedding Reception @ Wedding Chicks}

This is my favorite of the entire bunch. I nearly squealed upon discovering this gorgeous Pride and Prejudice photo shoot. It is entirely magical and visionary. I would have never thought of a Midnight Tea theme for a reception, yet its the most brilliant theme. Vibrant purples, blues, and greens fill the room, with twinkling crystals, bunched bouquets, and a lively atmosphere.  It seems a more glamourous take on Regency Era decor/fashion, and I'm in love!

{The Great Gatsby Themed Wedding @ Ruffled}

This Great Gatsby inspired wedding is wonderfully glamourous in a simplistic way. It's drenched in vintage flare, and even has a romantic detail to do with the brides shoes. I love her vintage broach adorned head piece, and what seems a pale blue gown.

I jumped right into Random House's Literary themed Pinterest, as it's a treasure trove of literary wedding ideas. I also loved their adorable engagement photography pins.

If you had to choose one novel to theme your wedding with, which would it be? I'm brimming with so many influences that I'm not sure I could choose one!

"Nothing Makes Me Stronger Than Your Fragile Heart"

(X-Posted from My inspiration blog: Forelsket. Couldn't help but spread my BREAKING DAWN excitement on Novel Days as well!)

I'm sure you guys already saw this coming, and perhaps wondered what was taking me so long to post a Breaking Dawn tribute. I cannot contain my excitement right now! What makes this all the more exciting is that I didn't spend the past year fangirling so hard that by the time I actually see the film, I'm simply 'whelmed.' I wasn't a huge fan of Breaking Dawn, and whenever I think about it, I just think...'what?' Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed the wedding, the honeymoon, and all of the stomach fluttering romance! Everything I've seen thus far looks so beautiful, I can't wait. I feel like this will be some of the best performances we've seen out of our favorite people. It's weird, but I feel like I'll probably cry through most of the heart-wrenching scenes. I'll even be the dork and admit that I feel like someone close to me is getting married. I can't help it...

The Breaking Dawn Soundtrack, as is usual of Twilight soundtracks, is wonderful! There are so many beautiful love songs and instrumentals. My favorites include Iron & Wine's special wedding rendition of 'Flightless Bird, American Mouth,' Christina Perri's 'A Thousand Years,' Carter Burwell's 'Love Death Birth,' and Turning Page by Sleeping At Last. Turning Page is especially beautiful, and I couldn't help doing a ukulele cover of it. It perfectly embodies Edward's love for Bella, and is Midnight Sun in song. It's my first cover in a long while, but I'm happy with it!

I hope you guys like it!

What are your favorite songs from the soundtrack, and what are you looking forward to most in the film? The Wedding? The Honeymoon? The heinous birthing scene?

Hello Dreamers! First off, I just want to thank you all so much for following! I've only been book blogging for around two weeks, and to have your support chuffs me to bits! I hope you like what I've posted so far, and if you have any suggestions please feel free to comment, email me, or connect with me on Twitter.Next, I've looked for different Meme's/Challenges I could bring to Novel Days which would allow me to post more than just reviews, and I've decided to do the 30 Day Book Challenge! It seems really fun, and I might be surprised at some of my own choices by the end of it.

Day .01: Favorite Book

I can already see the scorners picking up their stones. I understand that the market has been more than slightly over-saturated with glittering vampires, shirtless little boys, and zombie babies, but Twilight will always be close to my heart.

I first picked it up in 2007, before the craze rose to epic proportions. I remember being in such a funk in terms of my writing...I knew I've always wanted to write a novel, but it seemed after taking so many writing classes, I'd lost my own sense of excitement and color for worlds I could create. And then I picked up this novel. I remember thinking, 'oh, the story sounds sooo 'cheesetastic,' we'll see.' Then I started reading it, and I simply could not eject myself from its' world.

Most critique it for being poorly written and shallow. But I've always thought of successful writing in two ways. There are those who are wordsmiths, who perform tricks with words that are simply unbelievable. And then, there are those who may not be the greatest wordsmiths, but they create worlds that readers want to simply dwell in forever.

As a writer, I would hope that when I've reached the pinnacle of my career, I'm looked on as both a wordsmith and a brilliant storyteller. However, there's something about being able to capture the attention of a reader and hold it there to a point when reality blurs a bit. That, in itself, is a talent. Stephenie Meyer taught me that as much as writing a novel is about refining your craft and presenting the best work you can, it's also about dreaming. It's about writing characters you dwell with, speak with, and laugh with in the middle of the night by yourself. It's about breathing life into a story. It can be said that some of the most amazing wordsmiths have failed to accomplish this. Twilight is my favorite novel for these reasons. It helped me to remember why I'm writing in the first place.
