Lord of the Flies has to be my most dreaded nightmare in literature. I remember in middle school when this novel was thrust upon us like stale veggies on a plate. In most cases, I adore dystopian literature, but the concept of a story about a group of boys being stranded on an Island, and basically massacring each other, whilst dancing around a fly infested pigs head....not my piece of cake. And when Piggy died...don't get me started.
